Glycolic acid is used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including acne, aging skin, dark spots, and acne scars.

Glycolic acid exfoliates the skin by dissolving the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, allowing the skin to shed them more quickly. It also triggers the skin to produce more collagen, which helps keep skin firm and elastic.
